| here’s our first installment of info. it’s a smattering of things wedding related, so forgive the clutter of organization (or lack there of).

location of wedding & reception
both our ceremony and reception will be held at historic long branch, an historic horse farm and mansion museum, and both will be held outside. in the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved from the intended rose garden to the tented reception area, which is a brick-paved patio that will have plenty of room to serve our ceremony needs, albeit not quite with the same ambiance as the rose garden just a short distance away. for more specific directions and maps to the location of historic long branch, be on the lookout for future posts on this site.
what to expect (style and form)
both our ceremony and reception will be a blending of styles, just as both of our individual personalities and our union together is a reflection of just that. simply put, we are looking for our wedding to be both formal and fun, traditional and contemporary, serious and jovial. we hold the institution of marriage to be a sacred and holy thing, mirroring the relationship of Christ and his church, and we hope to make our vows and our union an act of worship to honor Him. but we also believe that God will be celebrating with us in this ceremony of worship, so we want our wedding to be overflowing with excitement and joy and celebratory exuberance. so dress to impress, but make sure that whatever you are wearing is fit for the dance floor as well. we will pull you out to dance with us!
as far as other such details, we wil be having a wonderful spread provided by six star catering, which will be sure to tantalize your food senses and fill you up, so no need to stuff yourself before the ceremony. leave the stuffing up to us. we may be having a champagne toast (or sparkling juice of some sort), but our reception will be dry other than that. this is in an attempt to support those who may be there who have struggled with alcohol in the past as well as to make sure that our wedding day is not spoiled with any unfortunate over-indulgences.
we will be doing some pictures ahead of time, but a large chunk will need to take place immediately following the ceremony, before the reception begins. we are working to have some forms of distraction available to you between these two large events, but you will have to wait until the day of the wedding to find out what they are. (yes, that is our way of saying we’re not sure how much we can get done, so we’re not going to make any specific promises yet!)
well, that will about do it for now. email, call, or comment right here if there is any pertinent info you feel is lacking or about which you just find yourself curious. our count down (as of right now) is 42 days until we pledge undying love to each other. we’re excited to celebrate with all of you!
pressing on – brad & liz
